Welcome to the Pike County Probate Court website. We hope this site will provide you with information and resources regarding probate services and cases, forms, Local Rules, and access to case dockets (except confidential proceedings).
The Probate Court is responsible for the issuance of marriage licenses, the administration of decedent’s estates, the application and administration of guardianships for incompetents and minors, adoptions, name changes, birth corrections and other various actions. The Probate Court also approves settlements in minor injury claims and wrongful death actions.
Probate proceedings can be quite complex and filings will require knowledge of Ohio statutes, case law, and rules. You are strongly encouraged to seek the advice of an attorney who is experienced in probate law to assist you in any type of probate case.
The Judge and the Deputy Clerks are prohibited by law from assisting you with any aspect of your case, including but not limited to answering legal questions, determining what forms are required, and assisting with the completion of those forms.
